The Lackmann Award for Translational Research recognizes outstanding achievements in translation of cell signalling research into the clinical setting. The inaugural recipient was Prof. Grant McArthur.
The CSTI Symposium series has been established as a tribute to the late Associate Professor Martin Lackmann, who tragically and suddenly passed away on 22nd May 2014.
The award is a collaboration between the Monash Department of Molecular Biology and the Monash Center for Additive Manufacturing (MCAM). Structural data for an Eph receptor antibody was translated into a 3D work of art by MCAM, who used computer controlled lasers to melt aluminum powder, growing the award one layer at a time.
